• International Internet traffic grew 74 percent in 2009—up from 55 percent in 2008.
• Despite fears that operators would delay upgrades resulting in overcrowded networks, international Internet bandwidth grew 64 percent, resulting in only a modest uptick in network utilization.
• Carriers added 9.4 Tbps of new international capacity in 2009—more than the total capacity of all international Internet links in existence in 2007.
• While demand for Internet capacity soared, prices continued to decline, particularly for high capacity ports.
